Adalberto Boyer Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico on December 10th. 1953. He moved to Danbury, Ct. at the age of 10 with his mother Maria M. Valentin. While in Danbury, Adalberto (aka) Al Attended and graduated from Danbury High School in 1972. Then had vocational training at Abbott Technical School in Danbury and Mathematics for Machine Technology courses from The Waterbury Technical College. He worked at Barden Precision Bearings Corporation in Danbury before taking a position of Machine Set-Up and Operator at Bic Corporation in Milford Ct. where he worked for nearly 30 years. Al moved to New Haven Ct. and became a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church. Al became a civic Leader in New Haven. He excelled in Community Outreach, Youth Education and Youth Ministry. He was a member of the church choir and the official photographer. Al was a member of the Pre-Baptismal Education Ministry and a Co-Coordinator for the Pre-Marital Conference for Hispanics for the Archdiocese of Hartford Ct. He also served as Co-chairperson for The Coalition for People’s Community Based Organization 1986/87 In 1987 Al was elected as President of the Connecticut, Puerto Rican Parade’s New Haven Chapter. He also served as the Parade’s Coordinator for the New Haven Chapter and Sergeant of Arms for the State Parade Committee on subsequent years. Al was honored with being named the Grand Marshal, and God Father as well as having a Parade and a Banquet in his Honor several years after he served. Al also worked as an On Air Personality with his own radio show on “La Nueva Radio Musical 104.5 FM in New Haven Ct. After Bic Corp. Closed the Department Al worked for, he went back to school to study Business Administration and Social Service at Gateway Community College in New Haven, Ct. Al then moved to New Jersey where he worked as a social worker for The ARC of NJ and NJID, (New Jersey Institute for Disabilities). Both agencies working with People with Disabilities. In January 2017 Al decided to retire and moved to Lake Worth Beach in Florida where he picked up where he left off. Now working with the Senior Community. Al was voted into the Fellowship Board of Directors where he now resides and is an active volunteer at the Mid County Senior Center of Palm Beach County. Al is also active as a Freelance Photographer and became the Official Photographer for The Puerto Rican/Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County. Last but Not Least, Al the Very Proud Father of an Angel in Heaven, Rosa Mairis Boyer Castro 11/5/88 – 11/27/88 and a Very Talented Angel on Earth, Luz Aisha Boyer Castro who has decided to become a Missionary for the Church as well as a Graphic Designer and Singer. Adalberto considers himself a Very Blessed Man.
