After his honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps, Col. Tony Araujo began his career at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in 1982 as a Deputy Sheriff.  He has worked in and supervised a variety of assignments within the agency.  He has been promoted through the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Major, and was appointed to the rank of Colonel on September 12, 2017.

    Col. Araujo oversees Law Enforcement Operations at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office which encompasses 17 districts throughout Palm Beach County, some of which are municipalities that contract  police services with PBSO.

    Col. Araujo earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Administration from Barry University and is a graduate of the Senior Executives in State and Local Government at the Harvard Kennedy School.

    Col. Araujo is married with three adult children and four grandchildren.
