Emma Vélez is the Founder and Publisher of Atlántikas, a Spanish-language media and information platform dedicated to informing, connecting, and serving Hispanic and multicultural communities.
With more than 20 years of experience across media, journalism, marketing, communications, and multicultural engagement, Emma has built her career at the intersection of media, business, and community. Her work has focused on helping organizations communicate effectively with diverse audiences while creating stronger connections between institutions, businesses, community leaders, and the people they serve.
Through Atlántikas, Emma is building a modern media platform that combines journalism, community information, original storytelling, and specialized content to better serve the evolving needs and interests of Hispanic and multicultural audiences. Her vision is to expand Atlántikas beyond traditional digital news into a trusted media and information platform with a growing presence in Florida and beyond.
Emma is also the Founder and CEO of Tres Communications, a marketing and communications company specializing in multicultural engagement, digital strategy, publishing, and integrated communications. Her entrepreneurial experience in communications and digital media has played an important role in the development and growth of Atlántikas.
Before becoming an entrepreneur and publisher, Emma built her career across print, radio, and television. Her media experience includes The Palm Beach Post, La Palma Newspaper, and iHeartMedia, as well as working as an entertainment reporter for Mega TV, Channel 57.
Community engagement has been an important part of Emma’s professional journey. She has served in leadership roles with organizations focused on Hispanic business, education, civic engagement, and community development in Palm Beach County, including the Florida Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic Education Coalition of Palm Beach County.
Emma earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts with a concentration in Management, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She also holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from Florida International University (FIU) in Miami.
Born and raised in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Emma remains deeply connected to her roots and brings that cultural perspective to her work in media, communications, and community engagement.
